Hazel and her late husband Clarence moved to Winter Haven in 1954 and started Roberts Plumbing, and in 1966 developed Orange Manor. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Wint er Haven. She is survived by nephews Robert Bishop and Richard Bishop; grand-nephews Nathan Bishop, Matthew Bishop and Joshua Bishop; grand-nieces Amanda Philips, Amy Bishop and Katie Bishop; great grand niece Violet Bishop. Visitation will be Saturday, June 29th at 10:00 a.m. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Ott- Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 West Central Ave, Winter Haven, FL 33880. ARTHUR E. HOLM, Jr., 76 WINTER HAVEN - Arthur E. Holm Jr., of Winter Haven died Monday, June 24, 2013, at 76, of cancer. He is survived by wife Claudia Holm, sons Gerard, Erik, and James Holm, granddaughter Abigail Holm, mother-in-law Clorinda Manzi, sisters Jan Gallegos and Nancy (Karl) Spitzkopf, and nieces and nephews. He was born July 15, 1936 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Arthur E. Holm Sr. and Helen Klint Holm. He grew up in South Bend, Indiana and Chicago, Illinois. He was in the US Army from 1959 to 1962, and was honorably discharged. He then settled in Lawton, OK. Art came to Winter Haven with his family in 1998 from Lawton, OK, where he ran a successful dental laboratory for 40 years as a dental technician specializing in crown and bridge. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven. Memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Winter Haven, Thursday at 11:00 AM. Donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.

POLLY PENN FOREHAND, 83 Registered Nurse LAKELAND - Polly Penn Forehand was born on November 27, 1929 in Paducah, KY and passed away on June 24, 2013 due to a stroke. She and her family moved to Lakeland in 1936. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Penn, her mother, Mary Elizabeth Penn, and her devoted husband of sixty three years, Cooper Forehand, Jr. She was a loving mother to Ann Cooper Forehand, Mary Elizabeth Forehand Geary, Foster Hicks Forehand (Nancy), and Kay Forehand Betz. She had three wonderful grandchildren she loved very much: Patrick Neil Geary, Laura Cooper Geary, and Kim Reynolds-Gier (David). She will be missed dearly by her brother, Buddy Penn, sister in law, Harriet (Doll) Jago, cousin, Marilee Truitt, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church for over sixty years and a member of PEO Chapter O. She was a past volunteer with Habitat for Humanity for many years and retired as a Registered Nurse from Lakeland Regional Medical Center. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, from 5-7 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel Tribute Center. A service will be held on Saturday, June 29, at 10 am at First United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Oak Hill Burial Park. Mrs. Brooks was a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Lavon Brooks and her beloved son, Michael Brooks. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her son, Darrell Brooks and his wife, Janice; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephe ws, as well as many other family members and dear friends. Mrs. Brooks' family will receive friends Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 5-7pm at Lakeland Funeral Home at 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland. WILLIAM "BILL" ADAMS, 72 Teacher LAKELAND - William "Bill" Wall Adams, born August 1, 1940, in Lakeland, Florida, passed away from heart failure June 21, 2013, in Lakeland. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Cecil and Grace Thelma Adams, and his sister, Mrs. Nancy (Felton) Sumner. He is survived by his sisters, Mrs. Mary (Novell) Costine and Mrs. Joanne (Robert) Conibear. Bill attended Kathleen High School, where he was the drum major of the Red Devil band, graduating in 1958. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts in journalism and public relations from University of Florida. At UF, Bill was a trombone pla yer for the Marching Gator Band and a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. During his professional career, Bill taught English, journalism, and writing at Admiral Farragut Academy, St. Petersburg; Santa Fe Community College and University of Florida, Gainesville. He also served two years as a contracted educator for the United States Navy. As a talented public relations representative, he managed the Edward James Hotel, Treasure Island, Florida; Ritz Hotel, Ocala, Florida; and University Center, Gainesville, Florida. His talents as an artist, writer, chef, and interior decorator brought joy to family and friends throughout his lifetime. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Gainesville, Florida, and attended All Saints Episcopal Church, Lakeland. Mrs. Collins was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #104 in Lake Wales, Fl, Polk Retired Education Assoc., Florida Assoc. of Retired Teachers, and a longtime Sunday School and Training Union teacher. Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her parents, Bedford Harold Hale and Mary Lee Spears Hale, husband, Rev. Glenn J. Collins, Sr., son, Glenn J. Collins, Jr., and three brothers. HAROLD V. BUNN, 92 COUNTY GOVERNMENT WINTER HAVEN - Harold V. Bunn, 92, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 of natural causes at his home in Winter Haven. Mr. Bunn was the son of Robert & Mary Bunn of Nash County, NC. He had four brothers and three sisters. He frequently returned to Eastern NC to visit the family and friends he dearly loved. He was a World War II veteran who served in the US Army. He serv ed in the Quartermasters Corps in Hawaii and in Guam where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He moved to Bartow in 1946 where he met and married Dorothy L. Whitten, who preceded him in death in 2000. He owned Bunn Service Station from 1969-1974 and afterward was employed by Polk County Building & Zoning Dept. He and his wife Dot enjoyed spendin g time at their mountain home at Balsam, NC, as well as traveling the US and Canada. He is survived by his children; Robert Michael Bunn, Barbara Adkison & husband David; grand daughter, Olivia Hazell & husband Marc; two great grand children Devin & Madilyn Hazell; sister Jessie Tew & husband Homer Leon of Starke, FL. He was born on Nov. 24, 1922 in Plant City, FL, moving to Winter Haven in 1949. He retired in 1974 from American Can Company. He was a member and deacon of Westside Baptist Church of Haines City and helped start Inman Park Baptist, Winter Haven, Isla Ve rde Baptist, Puerto Rico, and Lucerne Park Baptist, Winter Haven. He served in the Navy during WWII from Dec. 1942 to Dec. 1945. He was loved by his family, instrumental in his church life, and he loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, brothers, Lloyd Conerly and Alvin Conerly; sisters, Pauline Hagen, Myrtle Wolff, and Donna Nader; his parents Enoch Lauton and Pearl Conerly and his step mother Myrl. He is survived by his two sons, David Conerly (Faye) and Steven Conerly (Barbara); two daughters, Sharon Hogan (Wayne) and Sandra hicks (Jim); 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
